Planetary Politics: The Personal is Political Again
In the women’s movement in the 1970’s, the saying was “the personal is political.” The 1970s environmental motto was “Think Globally, Act Locally.” The coming climate crisis brings all of this together. We also have to “act globally, while thinking locally,” while “thinking globally and acting locally.” And virtually every personal decision–what car to buy, what cup of coffee–has global implications.
How do we navigate a new politic as global citizens? How do we empower the world’s peoples to action? How do we convince Canadians of our own power to change the world?
All are welcome.
